The church is closed Monday as we dig out from the recent snowstorm. We hope to open Tuesday. Stay warm and safe!

Sermons in January will Address Trust

Polls show that people today in our nation are increasingly unable to trust. We are losing trust in institution, in government and even in one another. This January our sermons will all focus on various aspects of Trust. In a time when many things we have trusted are being challenged, how do we build our trust in God?

January 4: Trust the Journey. The story of the Wise Men tells a lot about how to trust God when we embark on a journey of faith. As we set intentions for the New Year, consider where you are headed. What star are you following? Matthew 2:1-12.

January 11: Baptism of Jesus. We’ll consider how baptism is a sign from God in all of our lives, and how at baptism we receive a blessing that we can trust for the rest of our lives. Matthew 3: 13-17

January 18: Trusting God. The story of the Prodigal Son demonstrates that we can trust God. The story of two young men who were lost in different ways demonstrates how God is always seeking to welcome us home, and that is something we can trust. Luke 16:19-31

January 25: Trusting One Another. The Parable of the Bridesmaids. We look at how to build trust in community. Matthew 25: 1-13
