At South Church Amherst we include children and youth in all aspects of church life. We are committed to providing children with a warm, safe, and inclusive environment where they will feel loved and respected. We explore, interpret and practice Christian ministry with the children and youth to develop a deeper understanding of what it means to be a Christian in the 21st century.
Plan Your First Visit with Kids »
Nursery
Nursery care is available for babies, toddler, and preschoolers throughout service; our nursery teacher is CPR and First Aid certified.
Elementary, Grades 1–4
Students in kindergarten through 4th grade learn Bible stories reading from kid’s Bibles and doing arts and crafts to help understand the stories.
Middle, Grades 5–8
Our Middle Schoolers attend worship some weeks, and do a class together other weeks. In class they discuss the Bible story of the week and issues of ethics and justice raised by the stories. They look for connections between the Bible and our modern life today.
This class begins in April 2026.
